Meeting Minutes 02.24.08

Campus Garden:
    • Compile proposal mission statement:
      • Raise awareness about sustainable gardening/ agriculture.
      • Forge community among students.
      • Outdoor interactive space.
      • Producing our own food, reconnecting students to the source of our food.
      • Joining larger movement of sustainable/local food among university students nationwide.
    • What are we planting? How? When? Consult handbook on community gardens.
    • Contacting student groups
    • Contacting professors/ faculty
    • Survey of support among students and faculty
    • Becky writing letter for faculty
Margaret Hoffman meeting:
    • Once a month brunch
    • Farmer’s market is insured up to a million.
    • Menu suggestions
    • Market delivers on Thursday
    • We have a list of farmers
    • Waiting till brunch might be possible
Eric emailed Jo and asked about all the stuff we talked about last week. Waiting to hear back.Next step with brunch: getting in touch with chef – Liz in on that.

Milk: Andrew emailed the company.
    • They don’t use hormones or antibiotics.
    • Still to find out:
      • Names of specific dairies?
      • Can we go on a tour of one of them?
Outreach:
    • Earth week:
      • Lecture/panel
      • food – need funding
      • table on Earth Day
      • Global Solutions might want to partner on speaker panel (talk to Ugo)
      • Rickie will research and contact potential speakers.

Real Food Meeting: at Vasser 12-5pm, April 6.
